Godfather’s Pizza is a privately operated restaurant chain headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, that operates fast casual Italian franchises. In addition to their fast casual franchise locations, additionally they operate many Pizza Express Bars.
Godfather’s Pizza was founded in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1973. Willy Theisen bought out the pizza parlor and the name in 1974 from Gregg Johnson (who later started the Minsky’s Pizza restaurants), and sold his first franchise. Theisen sold the company to Godfathers Pizza inside the mid-1980s and stepped down from actively handling the company. In 1986, Pillsbury named Herman Cain CEO and President in the brand. Cain and Ronald B. Gartlan, the company’s executive vice president, led a team to buy the Godfather’s brand from Pillsbury, that they can did by the beginning of 1990 in a leveraged buyout for what was stated to be $100 million.

Godfather’s Pizza is also known for its commercials featuring “The Godfather”, a parody of Marlon Brando’s character, Don Vito Corleone, through the 1972 film The Godfather. “The Godfather” has become played by two actors, the very first being Omaha actor J. William Koll, who typically wore a white fedora hat, a pin stripe suit, along with a flower on his jacket. He also used the sayings “A pizza you can’t refuse!”, “Do it!”, “Should you don’t like anchovies, you’ll be sleeping using the fishes”, “Da goods is at da box!” and “I know your neighborhood.” The current spokesman is Omaha actor Dale O’Brien.
Godfather’s Pizza, Incorporated announced increase of its express pizza program to 17 additional Hucks Convenience Stores in five states. An overall of 66 of the more than 120 Hucks locations now serve Godfather’s Pizza. Hucks first partnered with Godfather’s Pizza 25 years ago, and the two companies keep growing and develop every year.

Thirty Hucks locations have drive-thru windows. Seven from the new locations will incorporate the brand new BigShot pizza-GPI Corporate’s new licensed pizza program.
